Today there are many options for apps allowing you to accept credit cards on your iPhone or iPad. Although none of them are perfect, in our opinion, one stands out above the rest. PhoneSwipe has the ideal combination in security, functionality and aesthetics. Here are the top 10 reasons why we think you should consider going with PhoneSwipe.

1. Inventory Database

Have your whole inventory accessible with a touch of a button. Say you are a clothing store. You can press men’s shirts and have a scrolling list of your inventory, with pictures, and a number next to it listing how many you have.

2. Sales Reporting

Easily access the top selling items for the day, week, month or year. Find out what is selling best and capitalize. You can also create customizable reports with your desired date range and even view individual transactions.

3. Compatible Card Reader

PhoneSwipe’s credit card reader utilizes the audio jack on your smartphone so their product is interchangeable between different phones. If you decide to switch phones, you don’t need to purchase a new card reader.

4. Amazing Receipts

The receipts email directly to each customer listing every item they purchased with the price, quantity and total amount next to it; there is even a picture! At the bottom there is a map of where the transaction took place and a copy of their signature. Not only this, but you can customize the information on the bottom and add your company’s logo. This is an easy and efficient way to have every detail from the transaction on one receipt.

5. Referral Program

On the footer of each receipt there is a PhoneSwipe call to action. If anyone who received their receipt from you signs up for PhoneSwipe you receive a $20 credit on your next statement. This is a free and easy way to pocket some extra cash, without doing any extra work.

6. Future Marketing

Because you email out every receipt, a copy of that receipt will also be available for you in your sales report. This means you will have the email address of every customer that has come in. Since they have already been to your business, this is an easy marketing tool if you want to email them incentives to come back.

7. Geolocation

The application knows where you are at during the purchase and will automatically apply the correct tax for your location. Not only this, but if tips are involved there is a simple screen that allows the customer to choose a predetermined amount, or enter their own quantity.

8. Credit Cards on the Road

With Phone Swipe you can get paid on the spot anytime, anywhere, by anyone. This is very useful if your company uses COD’s as you can now send your people out to collect and still accept credit cards.

9. Free Card Reader

Not only does Phone Swipe give you are free card reader, but a free phone app too! With no cost down it makes it that much easier to get started in the mobile commerce world.

10. Merchant Portal

Although not currently available, shortly PhoneSwipe will combine the inventory and sales reporting into an on-line format. By logging in you can access all of this, plus pull up your transaction locations via Google Maps to see where all of your business is being generated from.

Bonus – $0 Monthly Fee

This week we introduced a program with a free app, free card reader and no fixed monthly cost. That’s right, you can have the best available credit card app for the iPhone and iPad for the low price of $0 a month. Click the link below to get yours now.

	Why iPhoneMerchants.com?

For us that’s simple question to answer; we love the iPhone and we know all about the payment industry. So this is a perfect fit for us. On top of that enabling micro businesses (1-5 employees) to accept credit card payments cheaply and easily looks like a great opportunity. In the United States alone there are over 18,000,000 such businesses, many of whom have elected to accept only cash and checks for payments, until now.

What are we trying to accomplish?

We simply want to be the top source for information on accepting credit cards through the iPhone. We’ll accomplish this by sharing our views on these products and creating space for you to do the same. The idea is that together we’ll be able to point businesses to the best apps and hardware for their particular needs.

To start we will emphasize VeriFone’s PAYware Mobile because it is the only app on the market that integrates with a credit card swiper. As new products, such as Mophie’s Marketplace and Jack Dorsey’s Square, become available we will be covering them as well.

We also cover apps that do not integrate with a swiper, which can see by clicking here.

How does iPhoneMerchants.com make money?

At this point we make money one of two ways; first by businesses signing up for a merchant account through our site. Payprotec pays us a referral fee for every new account we send them. The second way is by businesses signing up for an Authorize.net account through us. We are official resellers of Authorize.net and make a small fee each month on every business we set up with them.

Thanks for reading our first blog post and please feel free to comment below or contact us directly with any suggestions you may have for improving this site.
